My Swing Trading Approach

Tighten the stop-loss on existing swing-trades, book gains on over-extended trades. Will limit how much additional long exposure I add to the portfolio today.

Indicators

VIX – As has been the case, the VIX is determined to drop into the 9’s. 

T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average) – 58% – improvement for five straight days on this indicator, showing that stocks are improving their technicals under the surface. 

Moving averages (SPX): Above all the MA’s now – follow the 5-day MA for short-term direction.

Industrials put together a big move yesterday.

My Market Sentiment

Well, it doesn’t appear that missile launches are a bearish event anymore. Market barely reacted to it, and the market is looking at a flat to slightly lower open.
