My Swing Trading Approach

SPX still struggling with pushing through July resistance at the all-time highs and establishing new ones of its own. Until that area breaks, it is hard for me to be overly aggressive to the long side.  

Indicators

VIX – Already starting the process of wiping out Tuesday’s gains. Series of lower highs after establishing major highs in August. 

T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average) – Still indicating a dead cat bounce. Marginal 3% imrprovement to 45%. 

Moving averages (SPX): Closed on the 5-day moving day average but could not break above it. 

Industries to Watch Today

Financials will be the main bearish sector to watch. Tech still bullish.
