Slightly bearish portfolio, but ready to flip to the long side depending on how the Yellen speech at Jackson Hole goes. 

Indicators

VIX – Neutral, not bouncing much following the 3-day sell-off. 

T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average) – No improvement here. Flat for the day, but overall still bearish. 

Moving averages (SPX): Tested the 50-day but couldn’t break it and as a result the market sold off. 

Industries to Watch Today

Tech fighting a lot of resistance overhead still. Can’t seem to go anywhere. Financials will be impacted by Yellen’s and Draghi’s words today. Definitely watch those banks.

My Market Sentiment

I’m really open to anything happening here. I’ve seen enough selling opportunities turn into massive rallies to trust this market with more downside. I’ll close out my short positions if this market doesn’t cooperate early on. The downward channel is still intact, so if that breaks, the bears are out of luck.
