My Swing Trading Approach
Get more short if necessary. Right now, I am slightly short on this market. Need to see that the bears want to continue yesterday’s selling first.
Indicators
VIX – Popped hard yesterday – up 10%. Could be in line for a big move today if the bulls can maintain the sellindg pressure (BIG “IF).
T2108 (% of stocks trading below their 40-day moving average) – Back below 50%. Stocks are eroding under the surface.
Moving averages: No changes.
Industries to Watch Today
Financials started off strong yesterday, but took a beating thereafter. Also if the market continues to sell-off, Tech could lead the way lower as we have seen of late. Watch the defense stocks as they may catch a bid with all the North Korea talk.

My Market Sentiment
Market needs to sell-off. The algos keep thwarting any such attempt. If they back off today, it could definitely get ugly out there. However, the market still holds a good chance of bouncing off of the lows of the day today.
Large caps > Small caps.

I want you to become a better trader, and you know what? You absolutely can!
Commit these three rules to memory and to your trading:
#1: Manage the RISK ALWAYS!
#2: Keep the Losses Small
#3: Do #1 & #2 and the profits will take care of themselves.
That’s right, successful swing-trading is about managing the risk, and with Swing Trading the Stock Market podcast, I encourage you to email me (ryan@shareplanner.com) your questions, and there’s a good chance I’ll make a future podcast out of your stock market related question.
In today's episode, Ryan answers the questions of one listener ranging from his transition from paper trading to live trading, and swing trading to day trading. Also addressed is his approach to trading, specifically Fibonacci retracement levels and why Ryan prefers Pivot Points instead.
