Ugh, what a day…
For the first time in about 3 years SharePlanner had itself an outage today where it spent most of the day off-line. The alerts to its subscribers were still running, however the site itself was inaccessible. So my apologies if you came to the website today and it was down.
What was the reason for the outage, you ask? It was me. Entirely…ME.
It was around midnight last night and I had made myself a Jack & Coke to settle in for the home stretch as I did some maintenance on the site since we just switched over to new servers.
But sometimes I think of myself far too highly when it comes to technical matters. I’m one of those people that knows just enough coding to be dangerous to myself.
Not to mention coding and alcohol should never be combined either. It is a recipe for disaster as was the case for me last night, as I ended up deleting a file or two and unknowingly crashed SharePlanner in the process, not to even realize it until the crack of down this morning when I crawled out of bed.
Nonetheless, we are back up, and may it be at least another 3 years before we have our next outage.
SharePlanner Market Compass:

One down day out of 8? Not bad…not bad at all.
Quick Glance at the Market Heat Map and Industries

Notables:
- Finance built on yesterday’s sluggish performance and led the market lower today.
- Tech had the best day out of all the sectors.
- Materials saw profit taking today.
- Utilities still can’t find any buyers.

And of course…the RIDICULOUS!
haha – far too funny – but so effective!

Welcome to Swing Trading the Stock Market Podcast!
I want you to become a better trader, and you know what? You absolutely can!
Commit these three rules to memory and to your trading:
#1: Manage the RISK ALWAYS!
#2: Keep the Losses Small
#3: Do #1 & #2 and the profits will take care of themselves.
That’s right, successful swing-trading is about managing the risk, and with Swing Trading the Stock Market podcast, I encourage you to email me (ryan@shareplanner.com) your questions, and there’s a good chance I’ll make a future podcast out of your stock market related question.
Watching the dollars rise and fall in your trading account can turn a well-planned swing trade into an emotional, deeply personal decision. In this episode, I explain why focusing on price action, percentage returns, and R-multiples can help you avoid cutting winners early, holding losers too long, and abandoning your trading plan.
Be sure to check out my Swing-Trading offering through SharePlanner that goes hand-in-hand with my podcast, offering all of the research, charts and technical analysis on the stock market and individual stocks, not to mention my personal watch-lists, reviews and regular updates on the most popular stocks, including the all-important big tech stocks.
