So overall, not a bad month. The market rallied pretty strong, and our swing trades were able to take advantage of the July rally. Early on, we thought the market might head lower when a head-and-shoulders pattern emerged on the S&P and Dow charts, so we took on a short of (DIA). Once the collar was broken on the pattern, the general markets reversed and we took a small loss – our only loss of the month. Our other 3 trades consisted of AAPL, TNH, and TSM all of which gave us gains of 22.42%, 17.54%, 16.52% – so we are very happy about that. Check out the results below…

On the other front, our day-trades, we continue to develop our strategy. Remember, this is only a feature that we started implementing back in March (prior to that, we were swing traders only), so there is still somewhat of a learning curve for us on this. However, much of the same strategies with swing-trading can be carried over into day-trading, the biggest difference being the time-frame for which we are trading in. Overall, we had a so-so month. I added 2.54% to our day-trading portfolio. We started the month off strong, but struggled heading into the end of the month. With August now in full-swing, we should be able to do better. But overall it is still a learning process.

Overall, not a bad month. Our swing-trades are clearly what shined the most. For the month of August, our aim will be to have a more balanced set of returns between the Swing-Trades and the Day-Trades.
