While the Market Falters, SharePlanner Traders Profit

Yesterday, as the markets were running away and pushing higher, a lot of traders took to social media calling for new market highs, and the end of sense-less “fear-mongering”. 

But they made one mistake – they didn’t respect the risk that was inherent still in the market. 

I personally have not held a single long position or any position for that matter overnight coming into this week. I stayed away from all long positions on Tuesday and Wednesday and let the dead-cat bounce play itself out. 

The main reason was because we had not yet broken through the heavy resistance at 1873 on the S&P 500. A few weeks ago we tested this level 9 straight times and failed to break through it on every single attempt. So while it was tempting to get long yesterday while the rally was on, I held off and to see what would happen today when we tested 1873 again. As you can see, it fell hard…real hard.

When the S&P 500 was at 1872 this morning, I added my first short position in Manitowoc (MTW), and proceeded with Dow Chemical (DOW), and then Bank of America (BAC). All in all, the positions are all in the green for me and building upon that.
