Happy Columbus Day – which takes on more meaning today than it has in the past since most government employees are not working today, which means that they can’t spend more of our hard earned tax-payers money on more of their stupid ideas. With that said, there won’t be any planned economic news affecting the markets today either.
Overnight, the Asian markets were mixed, but the average across the board saw gains of about 1% overall. European markets are doing even better with gains in the range of 1.2% to 1.4%. U.S. Futures are trading up on the Dow 38 points, while the NASDAQ and S&P are each trading with 7 points and 5 points respectively.
