Well apparently ThinkorSwim thought it might be a bit amusing to throw traders even more of a curve ball with this already manic/volatile market by making their services inaccessible to everyone. I've tried the mobile, TOS and TDAmeritrade sites and absolutely nothing is working. Everybody loves somebody sometimes

Call them up, and they will give you an approximate five minute hold time, but it is more like one hour and counting.

So this is pretty much the last straw in this once great marriage between ThinkorSwim and I. I originally left TDAmeritrade for her, but in strange twist of events, TOS engaged in relations with TDAmeritrade. I tried to be patient, and hope for the best, and forgive, but sometimes you just have irreconcilable differences and you just have to move on.

Apparently she didn't value my orders either, and make them a priority to get filled. I confronted her on this, but she insisted that it had nothing to do with TD. But I had second thoughts, figuring their might be some hankey-pankey going on in the behind my back.

And now I find myself wondering why she is locking me out of my account this morning by making her platform inaccessible.

Breakups are so hard, but I can assure you I'm not going to drop that infamous line of "it's not you, it's me" because quite honestly it's all you!

But hey, we can still be friends.

More like friends without benefits.

And of course, you are NOT to be notified on the Ameritrade platform of any system or status problems whenever they occur, which I'm sure their employees on the phones on the front line appreciate as much as the angry traders and investors deep in the hole. But will they learn from any of this? Any company worth sticking with would? But will Ameritrade?

Yeah - I actually feel for those folks that had to answer the phone calls today - because TOS left them out to dry. I think I'd be looking for a new job if I were them.

Well, it's not just me, then. I'd be happy just to know how much $$ I have in my account, how much is available for trading out of all lthe numbers displayed everywhere. How much money do I have tied up in a particular trade? Why is that symbol still listed there - I sold that a week ago. I can't find _anything_ I need on their new smartphone app. Why is every trade a margin trade even if I have tons of money to cover it? It's hard enough for me without this confusion.

TD Ameritrade canceled a project with IBM that they had already sunk several million dollars into... to upgrade their computers.... my best friend is an options specialist at Ameritrade. the computers are over 15 years old. their junk equipment is on the verge of total collapse each and every day of the year.... at one point they fell hours behind on trades last spring. but this all just couldnt' be true right ?

wrong, the truth is actually far worse than this. cannibalizing Think or Swim was the goal from day one. use T or S's good name to bring in the revenue, then destroy the company.

After reading this comment - this where I become paranoid with my account at TOS - good info thanks for letting us know.

You should add it to the TD Ameritrade file we have where you can review the companies.
