Here's one of your more traditional "Buffett-like" stock screens where I am essentially looking for companies selling well below their book value. The stocks below represent 31 companies that are trading at less than half its book value.
Zale Corporation (ZLC) is a stock that interests me quite a bit, because if it can break above the 50-day moving average, it would be effectively breaking its downward trend that started off of the January highs at the same time. At that point, the stock could see a nice move into the mid-$4's.

Perhaps book value is just absolutely WRONG! Why? Asset prices having been getting hammered and most of these companies added lots of assets to their balance sheets at the peak of the market.
Just because a company trades at a discount to book, doesn't mean its a buy! And in the case of some of these shipping companies, one could even say they remain a screaming SELL!
