The story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.

Oakland A's GM Billy Beane is handicapped with the lowest salary constraint in baseball. If he ever wants to win the World Series, Billy must find a competitive advantage. A must see!

Just finished watching this movie and I am glad I did. This movie was a definite must see movie. I never knew about this story in the past so I wasn't sure what to expect. This is another good telling of being able to think outside the box. Sometimes it pays off and other times it doesn't but when the odds are against you, what do you have to lose. Great story of a guy thinking outside the box and sticking to his guns in the face of everyone laughing at him. Rented this movie but now I will definitely buy it.

One of the top movies of 2011

I loved this movie, and actually a lot of what this movie is about and some of the tactics that the Oakland A's undertook can be directly applied to trading (really!) You just need to watch the movie, and figure out what it was that he did, and what it is that you can duplicate to make your trading better.
