Not the best day trading yesterday, finishing about 0.2% lower by overtrading the TZA Russell ETF (3:1) leverage. Finished higher today, trading (MTG) for a 4.25% gain, TNA for a 1.6% gain and Target (TGT) for a slight 0.2% loss. On the day up over 0.6%. Days like today you learn to hate when it comes to trading stocks - because it offers so many false hopes, and it just drives you bonkers. I shorted oil early on (SCO 2:1 leverage) and covered in the afternoon for a 3.3% gain, and bought some gold (GLD) off of a long-term trend-line, and I'm holding overnight, as I look for a bounce in commodities. I also played some with the Russell 3:1's (TNA & TZA). The former I got burned on (on 2 separate tries) but the latter made up for the bad trades in TNA. On the day up about 0.4%.

Fun day trading stocks. I've closed all my positions, and managed to make 5.6% on my short trade in oil (SCO), 2.2% and 5.6% in two separate trades in SPXU, and closed out short trade in Weight Watchers (WTW) at 57.16 for a 1.4% gain. I was up +2% overall on the day. Gold (GLD) and Amazon.com (AMZN) make for good buys at current price. May see the market bounce here tomorrow or Friday.

Ugh! Sold out of SCO today with about half the profits that I had yesterday in it. (oil spiked higher in the afternoon). I also traded TZA and averaged down for a full position as the market went against me. Got out on the first pop for a slight gain. Down overall on the day, but up over 2% on the week in my portfolio.

Tough call - I think SLV is setting up for a bounce - and the market is probably 50/50 probability of either going up or down - I don't see the bulls or bears having a clear edge going into next week.
